Did you know that my mother is a long-standing cook with a local-area hospital (over 30 yrs)? I specialize in white-flour and butter pastry desserts: pound cakes, quick cakes, cookies, and pies. I began baking at age 8; It was a quiet Saturday, in December, when I created my first pastry item, sugar cookies, for my elderly maternal great-grandmother (from simply watching my mother bake). That weekend day, I borrowed my mother's cook book and cookie recipe. I baked several dozens of cookies, and placed them in a large tin pan to be eaten by my great-grandparents' friends and our family members (rural and city).
If you ask me to bake, for a social event, expect many diverse pastry assortments.
