A two-day project)
Large sheets of aluminum foil
Colored chalk, markers, watercolors
Paint brushes (small- and medium-size)
Container for water
|1. Give your child several sheets of newsprint and several sheets of aluminum foil. The foil sheets should be larger than the paper.
2. Allow your child to place a sheet of paper on top of the foil and paint all over the entire sheet with water. Put another sheet of foil on top of the paper followed by another sheet of wet paper and top with foil. Place in the freezer over night.
3. The next day, remove the paper from the freezer. Encourage your child to notice and feel what has happened to the paper. Your child can draw on the frozen paper with markers, chalk, and watercolors.
