Thanksgiving Feast: Bacon Maple Orange Turkey |

Cooking time: 4 hours.
Turkey, 12- to 14-lb
| Ingredients: |
1/2 c pure maple syrup
1/4 c fresh orange juice
1/2 t salt
12 slices of thick-cut bacon
| Directions: |
1. Prep and place turkey and vegetables in the roasting pan as directed, but do not rub with oil.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together in 1/2 c pure maple syrup, 1/4 c fresh orange juice and 1/2 t salt. Transfer 1/3 of the maple mixture to a second bowl and set aside. Brush half the remaining mixture all over the turkey. Lay 12 slices thick-cut bacon over the turkey breast on a diagonal, overlapping the slices slightly. Stick toothpicks into the ends of each bacon slice (this will keep them from curling as they cook).
3. Brush 2 T maple mixture over the bacon.
4. Cook the turkey as directed. Before resting, brush the bacon and turkey with the reserved maple mixture and remove the toothpicks.
